Demonstration Greenhouses
Demonstration Greenhouses - TekSupply

In our high-tech greenhouse, we demonstrate hydroponic systems, proper greenhouse plumbing and more.

We've designed and constructed two greenhouse facilities. One is a 35' by 48' structure, which is split into two demonstration areas. In one half, we are modeling year-round, in-ground high tunnel production. The other half has three different hydroponic systems. Our 80' by 50' greenhouse is devoted solely to hydroponic production.

Workshops

Our main goal with creating this Technology Center is to help change how the world looks at sustainability and locally grown produce. We are now hosting two workshop series on Hydroponics and Hydroponic Fodder. It is our goal to pass on our knowledge and give growers hands-on experience with the newest technologies in horticulture.

Hydroponic Workshop

This daylong workshop at our state-of-the-art Technology Center, features the research of Dr. Lynette Morgan, a presentation and workbook created by the award-winning doctor herself.

The activities of the day are hosted by our greenhouse manager, Sam Shroyer, and attendees partake in a presentation narrated, tour and hands-on demonstrations in our hydroponic greenhouses and more.

Attendees leave with a wealth of knowledge about running their own hydroponic production from the first-hand experiences of Dr. Morgan. As a partner at SUNTEC International Hydroponics Consultants, she provides technical advice to hydroponic growers across the world. She has also written an extensive line of hydroponic guides, which will be available for purchase.

Learn More About Us!

When you visit our Iowa campus, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about TekSupply and the things we do best. Some of the topics that are most important to us include:

The advantages of hydroponic growing

With hydroponic, or soilless, growing you can achieve larger, higher quality crops due to controlled nutrient ratios and high yields in minimal growing space. A major benefit of hydroponic systems is that they can be used in areas where soil-based cultivation isn't possible, such as locations with poor soil quality, or where water supplies are limited.

The benefits of tension fabric structures

Fabric structures are affordable for you, with low costs per square foot, little or no property taxes and energy-saving benefits. Abundant natural light limits the need for daytime artificial lighting. Temperature-stabilizing fabric covers reduce the need for heating and cooling systems. When you choose a ClearSpan Fabric Structure, you can have your structure installed in only a matter of weeks. ClearSpan structures take as little as three weeks to produce and as little as three to five days to install.

The value of local agriculture

Locally grown and sustainability go hand in hand. Growing your own or purchasing from a local farm or farmers' market ensures a reduction in fossil fuel use, more nutritious, better tasting and fresher produce, and many additional environmental benefits.
